Tickets Tips: How to Get The Best Seats

Let's face it. The ticket game is hard (especially for Ed Sheeran fans). The reseller websites look legit. The scalpers get a lot of the good seats to resell when real fans can't get tickets at all. What are we supposed to do? Here's some tips I use to get the best seats at face value.

- Join E-mail lists for everything. Whether it's the venue, the artist, or the ticket seller, join their mailing lists. Yeah, you get a lot of emails, but a pre-sale code can save your life. This will also help you know when tickets go on sale. So many people come up to our box office like 2 weeks before the show saying they didn't even know the band was coming.

- If you're buying on Ticketmaster or Livenation, try both the app and the website when 10am hits. Sometimes I can pull up stuff on the app that won't pull up on the site. Make sure you're set up before 10am so you can just reload the page and go!

- Make sure you're on the correct website. Follow the link from the venue or from the band's site if you aren't sure. There are a lot of scalper sites out there.

- If you can, go to the venue to purchase them when they go on sale. Most venues save seats specifically for the patrons that come to the box office during on sales.

- If it sells out before you can get tickets, don't lose hope. Many venues release more tickets as time passes. Certain holds will open up. On Ticketmaster, you can ask for text updates when more tickets are released. If that doesn't work, you can always check the venue the day of the show (usually around 2 or 3pm). They almost always have more tickets available.

- Don't go pay 3x as much on StubHub or Vividseats. Trust me, I work at a venue and I've seen a lot of fake tickets from these sites. It sucks when the show is sold out and you're out $200.

If you're desperate, use StubHub because they at least have a guarantee on their tickets. They will give you equivalent seats or at least give you your money back.

- Now, go forth and get great seats for your favorite bands!
